Lucia Ortisi, originally from Italy, is a qualified chef with a PgDip in Gastronomy from Queen Margaret University. Cookery has been a passion of hers ever since her mother taught her how to make fresh pasta back in Sicily, Italy. Making that fresh pasta taught her how important food is in giving people a sense of community and belonging, something which she has subsequently written on and presented in public events.
Although she is a classical trained chef, Italian cuisine is undoubtedly her strongest card, with pastry and baking a speciality. Her recipes are a real mix of flavours and ingredients. Vegetables and fruits are combined with nuts, herbs, spices to make dishes tasty and healthy.
